Located on the Gunnison River west of town & south of Hwy 50. The park is a popular spot for rafting, kayaking, & swimming.
Curecanti National Recreation Area

Morrow Point Reservoir Boat Tour

Gunnison State Wildlife Area
Located just minutes west of Gunnison off Highway 50. Be sure to let out a couple of your best coyote/wolf howls. On 2 separate visits, we had a pack of coyotes howl back from across the valley within a couple minutes.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
Take a day trip to Black Canyon National Park, located about an hour west of Gunnison. Entrance to south rim is 15 miles east of Montrose near Hwy 50 & CO Hwy 347. http://www.nps.gov/blca/index.htm
